Training in Brisbane
To my left is Gareth Williams, Pro boxer, head coach and ex Australian Amateur, golden gloves champion and to my right, Todd Kidd, the Australian light weight champ who also represented his country in the Commonwealth Games. Then young Dave who I was sparring with, he's only had a couple of bouts but was very good in the ring. This was my second session at the www.theboxingshop.com.au I think, the best club I've ever been to !

JET LAG

The first few days in Oz are always gona be a bit hard, adapting to the time and heat, so I thought id pop in to the local boxing club this evening to make myself really tired in hope for a good nights sleep.
After the warm up, I wanted to leave...training in this heat is hard core. The gym, 'the boxing shop' was very good, some decent fighters and a great training program. 'Twas a bit of a wake up call for me if I'm gona have a couple of fights out here.

Big Skid
I arrived at the airport, we saw loads of media, police cars, people crying....I then got a phone call off my mum....she was worried, it was all over the news. A plane went a bit off course on the landing due to a last minute 'wobble'. The bottom of the Jet got scratched so they had to cancel over 200 flights? Luckily no one was injured. We got our flight OK as it was a different terminal..........thought we were gona be stuck in England for a few more rainy days...............phew !

Well the time has come Jan, Feb, March. Bordemville! Time to get outa here!! I'm off to Australia this Thursday. I will be posting blogs while I'm away about the surf and hopefully the boxing (if I can get some bouts out there) three months should do it. East coast here we come!

Boxers too ill?
The Devonport boxing club had to call off their boxing show this Friday because too many of the competing boxers were ill ! I had a nasty dose of the flue just as I was getting fit for my fight and as it turns out, the same thing happened to other fighters elsewhere. The problem with being really fit for boxing, is that you seem to pick up any illness going.

I do have a bit of fun with this site, mostly because its something to do when I'm bored I flat surf, relaxing from boxing training etc but it seems as though I've started a bit of a trend. BOMBS AWAY
I've been in bed for the last week with flue but had to get in for a surf today! Gwenver had 5-7 ft lefthanders with no one out.
Seb, Burt Wright and myself paddled out (me on my gun) and for 3 hours we surfed perfect waves, some of the best conditions I've ever surfed in this country for sure. (The picture is of my younger bro, Seb, a few days ago). The conditions today were bigger and cleaner with big bowly sections to carve on. No shots I'm afraid as we were all surfing and by the time we had got out it was dark so maybe tomorrow.
