05/25/2008 Flat day fun!
To be honest, I didn't like the look of stand up paddle boarding at first. However, you gotta try these things out ! My board is an 11' 6" laird, Surftech, nearly 30 inches wide and over 4 inches thick. If the surf's tiny, I'll be out on it as its improving my core strength for boxing and helping my general balance. just waiting to see how she goes in the bigger stuff............!

Action man barrel
Been going through some photos from Australia and found this one. I forgot i took it. It's a 6 inch wave that was lapping the shore at Moreton island. If only you could shrink yourself !

Seb & Toby K.O'd in the Nationals
Past and present Rip Curl team riders Toby Donachie and Seb Smart were both knocked out at this weekend's Headworx English surfing championships. The two under 16 favourites surfed their way to the semis with style and flair only to be denied by the judges of a place in the final. Toby has spent the whole winter in Australia, training for this summer and last years under 14s winner Seb has stayed at home dealing with the big winter swells. Their next event is the 'rip curl grom search' to be held at Polzeath next weekend. Better luck next time lads !

We get so much swell - dont it for granted. I've been getting in so much surf time, (with a job interview with Surftech thrown in) I'm stoked to be back in the UK despite the cold.
