It's usually so hard to get good sparring in the Cornwall area - virtually impossible in the Summer Months.
As it happens, there are now 5 decent clubs in and around the Penzance area. The most ever.
St Just A.B.C run by Mike Howard is looking good with their new improved location and a couple of decent up and comers Travis Cody and Jamie Coombes.
Then you got the new Penzance A.B.C which I haven't been to yet but will be ran by Martin James who was a bit of local hero in his day.
There is also St Ives boxing club that looks to be going places which i havnt been to yet but heard good things.
Of course Cambourne/Redruth a.b.c which needs no introduction pumping out regular aba champions.
www.touchgloves.co.uk have been putting on some amazing local shows featuring their army of national and international champions, the likes of Julie Kithen and Sean Bowman trained and managed by Nathen Kithen.
And finally rumour has it 'Iron'' Mike Nudd, ex-amateur boxer / national champion kick boxer has started up his own white collar boxing club in the Newlyn area . . .
So, boxing down here in the South west is booming !!!!
The best thing about August. I get a couple of weeks holiday. A chance to spend some time with the family, surf and get a decent bit of Boxing training in. Hoping for some hot weather...... or NO rain will do. Hit me up if your surfing down Sennen.
